(thyme, or thyme) is a valuable aromatic plant from the Lamiaceae Lindl family. (Lyasnotkovye) has about 150 species, distributed almost throughout Eurasia, as well as in Africa. Most thymes grow in the foothills and mountains of the Caucasus. Thymes are undersized shrubs or semi-shrubs up to 35 cm tall with woody procumbent or ascending stems, erect or ascending herbaceous flower-bearing branches and often with recumbent, barren shoots.
