Perhaps that is why the new "five" turned out to be so bewitchingly attractive. The M-package is not only a spectacular body kit, but also reinforced brakes, preloaded springs and shock absorbers, a more powerful front stabilizer and a ground clearance lowered to 129 mm versus 144 mm on standard versions. The magic of the 5 Series is in the number of bends, each of which plays in the light with an indescribable range of reflections, shades and penumbra. The half-race relief of the optional M-body kit, coupled with 20-inch wheels, adds passion, and the newest adaptive optics Selective Beam becomes a small revolution and the cherry on the BMW design cake, replacing the classic "angel eyes" with two pairs of "diamond" patterns. Yes, we have already seen all this on the new flagship BMW 7 Series. However, the slightly reduced dimensions added harmony and removed unnecessary weight so that the new BMW 5 Series can be undoubtedly recognized as one of the most beautiful sedans of the modern premium class. The second innovation is the transition of the BMW 5 Series to the new modular CLAR platform, which the car predictably shares with the flagship 7 Series. And divided - that's putting it mildly. Technically, the cars are almost identical - the difference is in the nuances of the suspension settings and some design solutions. Unlike the exterior, throwing a quick glance at the interior, you will not be able to notice the defining changes. Here the approach is the opposite, requiring immersion in all the details, in which, as you know, the devil is hidden. Stylistically, everything has remained traditional for BMW. It's not even worth talking about the quality of workmanship, a set of textures and materials used - everything is at the highest level. Landing in optional multicontour chairs with massage, as they say, under each bend of the vertebra. But further discoveries begin, which, again, will not surprise only the owners of the latest 7 Series. Competitors have long been digitized: in Mercedes there is a double half-meter screen in front of the eyes, Audi can “draw” on the “tidy” a magnificent, but still toy-like navigation map, just like Jaguar.
