Samsung Galaxy J4 in Ethiopia
Samsung Galaxy J4 smartphone review: an overpriced Korean budget employee
Samsung this spring presented a rather interesting update to its mid-range smartphones Galaxy A6 and A6, and later the updated budget novelties of the company appeared on sale. Samsung Galaxy J4 is one of them. The smartphone is quite controversial, it has strengths, but there are many weaknesses. Read more about all this in our new review.
Galaxy J4 received a completely plastic streamlined body with very simple, no frills shapes. But the front panel is covered with a pleasant 2.5D glass with sloping edges.
The back cover is plastic, it does not interfere with the antennas, so there are no external grooves here. The surface is matte but smooth, fingerprints are visible.
The side frame is also plastic, matte and smooth, it slides in the hand, and the device is rather large and heavy, so it's easy to drop it. There are no complaints about the quality and assembly, everything is clearly adjusted, the case does not creak or play when compressed.
The camera on the back side do Samsung Galaxy J4 in Ethiopia es not stick out beyond the surface, the smartphone lies firmly on the table, does not wiggle when you touch the screen. The flash is located right there, it is single, of medium brightness.
The smartphone does not have a fingerprint scanner. This is inconvenient and already unusual when unlocking a smartphone, and considering the price, it also smells of greed on the part of Samsung. Simple Chinese manufacturers have been putting such a sensor in smartphones of any price level for a long time, it's a penny question. Unlocking by the owner's face works on budget smartphones with much greater difficulties, you cannot rely on it. However, this smartphone does not have a face unlock function either.
An LED event indicator was placed above the screen, and the front camera has its own flash.
But there is no backlight for the touch-sensitive hardware buttons under the screen. Their very presence is an ambiguous question today, many prefer a flexibly customizable button panel with additional functions on the screen. But if there are hardware buttons, then at least highlight them, because they are not visible even at dusk, let alone in the dark! Again, strange savings. The central key, we repeat, does not have a built-in fingerprint scanner, it only carries out the usual function of returning to the home screen (it was worth cutting in a mechanical button for this!).
Thank goodness for the side buttons, too: for some reason they were smashed to different sides. Nowadays, almost no one does this, because it is inconvenient: when they stop, their fingers often press opposite buttons. The keys themselves are large, with good travel, there are no complaints about that.
It is curious that the main loudspeaker is brought out here not to the end (as in most modern smartphones), but to the rear panel, so the sound of the device lying on the table is muffled.
Three separate connectors are installed under the removable back cover: two for Micro-SIM cards and the third for one microSD. It seemed that all this (removable covers, connectors for Micro-SIM) had not existed in the mobile market for a long time, but Samsung specialists found them somewhere. Three connectors are convenient, you don't have to sacrifice one of the SIM-cards for a memory card. However, if you take such a device as a spare, you will have to experience hellish torment trying to insert your Nano-SIM with an adapter into the overhanging connector with convex contacts. We did not manage to take out the SIM-card back without tweezers at all.
On the upper end of the smartphone there is nothing, and on the bottom you can find a microphone and a USB connector hole, but this is not USB Type-C, but an outdated Micro-USB. But a 3.5 mm audio output for headphones was left nearby.
Samsung Galaxy J4 is only available in two colors: black and gold. The smartphone is not protected from water and dust.
The Samsung Galaxy J4 has a Super AMOLED display covered with 2.5D glass. The screen has a diagonal of 5.5 inches (140 mm), the aspect ratio is 16: 9. At the same time, the screen resolution is 1280 × 720 with a not very high density of dots - about 267 ppi.
